How to read these figures

The 2024 cut-off is compiled from IAF CertSearch and was published in 2025. Until 2023, participation by reporting bodies varied; the coverage change limits comparisons and does not demonstrate causal market growth.

For 2023, the detailed XLSX is used: ISO/IEC 27001, 47,291 certificates and 79,213 sites, versus 48,671 and 81,264 in the PDF; ISO 37001, 7,895 certificates versus 7,894. Sources are not mixed.

Differences between Overview and regional sums are retained: ISO 9001, 1,474,118 versus 1,474,113; ISO 45001, 542,527 versus 542,526; ISO 13485, 31,215 versus 31,214. Regional subtotals do not replace the official world total.

Certificates and sites
Certificates: valid documents reported. Sites: locations covered by those certificates. A multi-site certificate covers several sites, so the two columns cannot be compared with each other.
Companies
The ISO Survey does not publish unique companies: an organization may hold more than one certificate and more than one site. No figure on this page should be read as a number of companies.
Three views
World, regions and countries are three views of the same dataset. Adding them together double-counts: each breakdown is read separately.
Variations
Year-to-year jumps may reflect changes in the survey methodology and variations in the bodies that respond. A year-on-year change is not read as market growth without that context.
No data
Missing data is published as “no data”. It is not filled in with zero or with estimates.

Data year: 2024 (cut-off 31 Dec 2024). Review of this page: 17 Oct 2026. The two dates are different and are published separately.
